Recalculate Feature
The recalculate function allows dynamic adjustment of ingredient quantities in a feed mix based on changes to one ingredient. It supports two key business needs:
- Weigh Back Management → Reuse leftover feed by recalculating rations to reduce waste.
- Adjusting for Bale Weight → Add varying hay bale weights and adjust other ingredients proportionally.
- Machine Constraints → Keep loads within mixer or truck weight limits while recalculating proportions.
Fixed Load vs. Variable Load: Key Concepts
| Aspect | Fixed Load | Variable Load |
|---|
| Total Load Size | Remains constant at the target load size. | Can increase or decrease based on adjustments. |
| Adjustment Method | Other ingredients adjust proportionally to fit. | Other ingredients stay constant, total load changes. |
Examples: Fixed vs. Variable Load
Scenario
- Target Load Size: 1000 kg
- Ingredients Ratios:
- Corn: 50% (500 kg)
- Soybean Meal: 30% (300 kg)
- Hay Bale: 20% (200 kg)
- Hay Bale Weight Changes:
- Case 1: Increases to 300 kg.
- Case 2: Decreases to 100 kg.
| Aspect | Fixed Load (1000 kg Target) | Variable Load (Adjustable Total) |
|---|
| Case 1: Hay Bale = 300 kg | | |
| Hay Bale | 300 kg | 300 kg |
| Corn | 700 50/80 = 437.5 kg | 500 kg (remains constant). |
| Soybean Meal | 700 30/80 = 262.5 kg | 300 kg (remains constant). |
| Total Load | 437.5 + 262.5 + 300 = 1000 kg | 500 + 300 + 300 = 1100 kg |
| Case 2: Hay Bale = 100 kg | | |
| Hay Bale | 100 kg | 100 kg |
| Corn | 900 50/80 = 562.5 kg | 500 kg (remains constant). |
| Soybean Meal | 900 30/80 = 337.5 kg | 300 kg (remains constant). |
| Total Load | 562.5 + 337.5 + 100 = 1000 kg | 500 + 300 + 100 = 900 kg |
